KEY FACTS TO KNOW ABOUT STARTING A PENSION

  1. A pension is a long term savings plan / investment which aims to build up a fund that you can use in retirement. The government gives you tax relief on your contributions into the savings pot.
  2. It is never too late to start a pension, the earlier the better but remember it is never too late. Even if you only have €25 a month to put into a pension, this will stand to you at retirement.
  3. You are living longer and you need to find an income other than what the state will provide in order to maintain most peoples standard of living.
